2025 Camping Schedule<\/h1>\n

When you call a commercial<\/em> campground to make a reservation, tell them you\u2019re with Southeast Lows and they will try to put you with our group<\/strong>. For federal, state, and county campgrounds, look for a site near ones already reserved or recommended. Because we\u2019re making reservations early, check on campground refund policies in case you have to cancel. After you make a reservation, please email southeastlows@gmail.com<\/a> to let Cheryl know that you plan to attend.<\/p>\n

APRIL 6 – 13<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n

AMITY CAMPGROUND, 1001 County Road 393, Lanett, AL. (<\/b>Corps of Engineers Park)<\/span>
\nTo make a reservation, go to recreation.gov and enter Amity and select near Lanett AL They prefer that reservations are made online, but if you have problems making a reservation, you can call 877-444-6777.<\/span>
\nBobbi, Linda, and Bea have made reservations for Sites 48, 49, and 53 because they need 50 amp. Karen reserved 93. Look for sites nearby.
\nClick Filters above the site list and enter your RV length and if you need 50 amp. When you click a site on the map, you can click View Details to verify the RV length and whether it\u2019s 50 amp.

THE MAY CAMPOUT IS CANCELED.<\/h3>\n

Several members who had made reservations had issues come up that prevented their attending the campout. Cancellations made more than 7 days before the arrival date will receive full refunds.<\/strong>

\nIf you call before April, their winter hours are 9 am \u2013 1 pm Monday-Saturday. <\/strong>They no longer hold sites, but tell them you\u2019re with Southeast Lows and they will try to put us close together. They\u2019re slow now, but make a reservation soon.<\/p>\n

The September Campout is canceled<\/h3>\n

Several members are on a two-month trip to the Northeast, and two of the three who have reservations have issues that might make it impossible to attend. I believe the fee for cancelling is only $10 if cancelled at least 14 days in advance.<\/strong><\/p>\n

SPRINGFIELD CAMPGROUND, 1915 Providence Church Road, Anderson, SC (<\/strong>Corps of Engineers Park)<\/del>
\nEnter Springfield Campground into your browser, then click recreation.gov for Springfield, Hartwell. (You may also want to look at some of the YouTube site videos for Springfield.) They prefer that reservations be made online, but if you have problems making a reservation, you can call 877-444-6777.<\/strong> Reservations cannot be made earlier than six months prior, so you cannot make a reservation before 10 a.m., March 7. Call as close to that time as possible because this is a popular campground.<\/strong> Fill in the dates and your preferences (filters) above the site list. Site details will say 50 amp, but I was told all sites are 30 and 50 amp. The map isn\u2019t great; it jumps around. I\u2019m hoping for a pull-thru, and a Ranger gave me the following pull-thru site numbers: 2, 7, 13-15, 18, 22-24, 46, 54-62. Sites 41, 61 & 67 are double sites. When you click a site on the map, you can click View Details to verify the RV length and see a photo of the site.<\/del>

The October Campout is Canceled<\/h3>\n

Unfortunately, the OCTOBER CAMPOUT IS ALSO CANCELLED. Storms were forecast for the South Carolina coast, so it was decided to cancel. Maybe our luck will be better next year.<\/strong><\/p>\n

SKIDAWAY ISLAND STATE PARK, 52 Diamond Causeway, Savannah GA<\/del>
\nYou can make reservations at reserveamerica.com, but I didn\u2019t have luck identifying sites to recommend, so I called 800-864-7275, and was given the sites below as being available as of now:<\/strong><\/del>
\nin the South Campground, <\/strong>36 is a premium full-hookup site at $54\/day<\/del>
\nStandard electric sites with no sewer at $46\/day are 27, 29, 33, 37, 38, 39, 25, 23, 19, 17, 15, and 13.<\/del>
\nI was told you can pay half when reserving and the other half at arrival. Ask for the 20% senior discount when you arrive at the campground.<\/strong><\/del>

When you make a reservation with a campground, tell them that you\u2019re with Southeast Lows (Loners on Wheels). They will try to put our group together, but no one would guarantee it. As usual, it was difficult finding campgrounds at the rates we prefer. After you make a reservation, please email southeastlows@gmail.com to let Cheryl know that you plan to attend.<\/p>\n

APRIL 2-9<\/h3>\n

TRACKROCK CAMPGROUND, 141 Trackrock Camp Rd, Blairsville GA, Ph: 706-745-2420
\nCall by February 12 to ensure a site. They\u2019re on winter hours; if they don\u2019t answer, leave a message and they\u2019ll call you back. They recommend asking for sites 57-69, which are pull-thrus, and have a group pavilion and fire pit.
\nWith Passport America: 30 amp, $180\/week; 50 amp, $202.50\/week.
\nWithout Passport America: 30 amp, $240\/week; 50 amp, $270\/week.
\nThey have wi-fi at sites, but no cable TV. They have a 4-acre fishing\/swimming lake, hiking trails, horse stables and guided trail rides.

\nDirections on their website under \u201cAbout Us\u201d says RVs should not follow GPS or mapping programs. Follow directions on the campground website. From North Carolina (to avoid Hwy 64), go toward Franklin, then Hwy 23 to Clayton, then follow the \u201cFrom South Carolina\u201d directions.

Cancelled because so many on a caravan trip. Not any fault of Winngray Campground; they were very understanding about the cancellations.<\/strong>
\nWhen I called to cancel (because of my wrist) I learned that only one person had NOT canceled. I let Mary Ellen know so she could also cancel.<\/p>\n

OCTOBER 8-15<\/h3>\n

\nThey are holding 10 sites for us until September 25; after that date, they will release the sites not reserved. Spacious Skies is new management and they have made many improvements.
\nThey have WI-FI, a small pond (muddy after heavy rains), a game room, and a pavilion.

\nI remembered having problems finding my campsite last time we were there, so I called for directions. This is what I was told. Turn off Bruton Smith Blvd into the driveway with the large sign for zMAX Dragway, then take the first right into the Resort Entrance. Park on the Resort Entrance road to walk to the Campground Office. (Get the Wi-Fi code and campground map from the office.) If you turn left toward the Campground Office parking, you will not have room to park even though the map shows \u201cParking.\u201d After you\u2019ve got your map, you\u2019ll take the next left, then the next right (before the campground office) and drive to Row L.
